Overview
‘12 Jyotirlinga Tour Package’ is well planned itinerary, which give you the chance to visit the major pilgrim places across the India. During this tour you will visit the twelve Jyotirlingas. Which is the holiest pilgrim place for Hindus, which is devoted to the Lord Shiva. Apart from this you will also visit some other major pilgrim places such as Dwarka, Shirdi and ShaniShingnapurDham. During this tour you will get the chance to explore some major part of India, where you can also get the chance to explore diversity of the culture and traditions of India. The duration of the travel is 22 nights and 23 days.
Itinerary
Day 1: Mumbai-Rajkot (Overnight at Train)
On reaching Mumbai, its time you take a transfer to Rajkot. Board your train to Rajkot in the evening and enjoy your overnight journey.
Day 2: Rajkot-Dwarka (By Road-220 Kilometres)
On reaching at Dwarka, check in to the hotel, after freshen up, and proceed for Dwarka which is located at a distance of around 220 Kilometres away from Rajkot.Dwarka is counted among the seven most sacred Hindu pilgrim and is believed to be the place where Krishna settled here after leaving Braj , where he lived and ruled.
In the evening, visit Nageshwar Temple and Dwarkadhishji for Darshan. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Dwarka-Somnath(By Road-229 Kilometres)
Today after breakfast, proceed for Somnath which is located at the distance of about 229 kilometres from Dwarka. Somnath is famous for its grand Shiva temple, located in Junagadh district. As legend has it, the original temple was built by moon god which is known as Soma, it gratitude to Shiva for migrating the impact of a terrible curse. Said to have been a fabulously wealthy temple, Somnath was plundered and destroyed several times for its treasures.
On reaching, check-in to the hotel. Have you lunch and then visit Veraval. In the evening, visit Somnath temple for Darshan. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 4: Somnath-Ujjain (by Train)
Early in the morning, attend the Abhishek Pooja and return back to the hotel. After having your breakfast, leave for railway station, where you board your train to Ujjain. Overnight at train.
Day 5: Ujjain-Omkareshwar-Ujjain (By Road-140 Kilometres)
On reaching Ujjain in the morning, transfer to the hotel. Ujjainis an oldest city located on the eastern bank of the Kshipra River in the Malwa of Madya Pradesh.
After taking some rest, drive to Omkareshwar and visit the temple of Lord Omkareshwar. It is situated in the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh state, it is one of the 12 revered Jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva. Explore the beauty of this rare archaeological site.
You can also enjoy boating in the Narmada River which encircles this temple. Later, drive back to Ujjain and stay overnight.
Day 6: Ujjain-Haridwar (By Train)
In the morning, attend morning aarti at Mahakaleshwar temple. It is one of the 12 revered Jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva. Later, visit to Bhairav Baba and Ma Shaktipeeth.
Post lunch board your train to Haridwar. Have a comfortable overnight journey.
Day 7: Arrival in Haridwar
On reaching Haridwar, take a transfer to the hotel.Haridwar is known as one of the seven holiest places or SaptaPuri to Hindus. It is one of the ancient city of Uttarakhand. As per the Hindu mythology it is one of the four places where the drops of Amrit fell from the pitcher. The literally meaning of Haridwar is gateway to the god. It is this place where River Ganga enters into the plains of the Northern India for the first time after completing a journey of 253 kilometres from its source at Gaumukh, Gangotri Glacier.
Check in at the hotel, rest day is free at leisure. In evening attend the aarti at Hari-ki-Pauri.
Later, return to the hotel for dinner. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 8: Haridwar-Guptkashi (By Road-210 Kilometres)
After having your breakfast, drive towards Guptkashi, which is located at the distance around 210 kilometres away fromHaridwar. It is the large town located at the height of about 1,319 metres in the district of Rudraprayag in Uttarakhand. It is one of the most impotent pilgrim for Hindus.
On reaching, visit ArdhNareshwarMahadev temple. Have your dinner and stay overnight at the hotel. Dinner and night stay.
Day 9: Guptkashi-Gaurikund (By Road-30 Kilometres)-Kedarnath(By Road-14 kilometres trek)
This morning after having an early breakfast, leave for Gaurikund.It is the major trekking base to Kedarnath. A thermal springs located here along with the temple of Gauri. As per Hindu mythology Goddess Parvati as Gauri meditated here, because she wanted Lord Shiva as her husband. Hence this place is one of the most impotent religious place For Hindus.
Start your 14 km trek to Kedarnath, Kedarnath is one of the most important pilgrim of Hindu religion. It is the most isolated of the four Char Dham sites of Uttarakhand. The place is located at the height of 3,583 meter above from sea level on the foothill of Himalaya on the Banks of Mandakini River, near Chorabari Glacier. Kedarnath is surrounded by Stunning snow caped mountains. Snow-fed mountains, rhododendron forests, and salubrious environment make the place truly enchanting.
Upon arrival at Kedarnath, check in to the hotel. Rest day is free at leisure. Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 10: Kedarnath-Haridwar (By Road-123 Kilometres)-Varanasi (By Train)
Early in the morning, go for Darshan at Kedarnath. It is one of the holiest temple for Hindus, which is one of the twelve jyotirlinga. The temple is devoted to lord Shiva. The actual time of the temple is not known but it believed that it was built by AdiShankara in 8th century, and it is said that the temple is located on the same place where Pandavas were built the temple as per epic Mahabharata. In front of the temple, directly opposite to inner shrine, is a Nandi statue carved out of rock.
Later, trek down to Gaurikund and drive back to Haridwar.From Haridwar, you board your train to Varanasi.
Day 11: Varanasi
On arrival in Varanasi, check in to the hotel. Rest day is free at lVaranasi, is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and also known as Kashi or Banaras. It is situated on the bank of River Gnaga. The name of Varanasi is originated from two rivers, Varuna which is still flowing is Varanasi and Assi a small stream near AssiGhat.
In the evening, go to attend Ganga aarti at the Ghat. Later, return to the hotel for dinner and stay overnight.
Day 12: Varanasi-Jasidih (By train)-Deoghar (By Road-10 Kilometres)
Begin this morning with a visit to Kashi Vishwanath temple and Sankatmochan temple. After having your lunch, board your train for Jasidih. On reaching Jasidih, drive to Deoghar, It is an important Hindu pilgrimage centre. The city is renowned for Baidyanath Temple which is one of the twelve Shiva Jyothirlingas in India and one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in India.
Later, return to the hotel and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day13: Deoghar-Kolkata (By train)-Chennai (By train)
Attend Abhishek Pooja early morning at Baba Baijnathji. Return to the hotel for breakfast and then leave for Kolkata. On arrival in Kolkata, take your next train to Chennai. Have a comfortable overnight journey in the train.
Day 14: Chennai-Rameshwaram (By train)
On arrival in Chennai, board your train to Rameshwaram. Enjoy overnight journey in train.
Day15: Rameshwaram
On reaching Rameshwaram, It is an important Hindu pilgrimage centre and an integral part of Ramayana legend.
Check-in to the hotel and then leave for sightseeing around this beautiful place. In the evening, go for attending aarti and Darshan at Sri Ramanathaswamy temple. It is the centre of Ramaeswaram as it has been since ancient times. The shivalinga in this temple is believed to have been consecrated and worshipped by Lord Rama on his return from Lanka.
Post Darshan, visit the famous Hanuman temple. After Darshan, return back to the hotel. Overnight at Rameshwaram.
Day 16: Rameshwaram-Madurai(By Road-170 Kilometres)
Go for Mani darshan, SamudraSnan and 27 kundsnan Abhisekham early in the morning at Rameshwaram. Get back to the hotel for some rest. Have your lunch and then leave for Madurai.
Madurai is one of the oldest city of India, which is the third largest city of Tamil Nadu. The city is popular for its vibrant culture, tradition and rich history.The city has various historical monuments and temples, among them Meenakshi Amman Temple and TirumalaiNayak Palace are most popular.
Upon arrival at Madurai, check in at your pre booked hotel. The rest of the day is free at leisure. You can visit the local market and enjoy the shopping and test the local food. Overnight stay in Madurai.
Day 17: Madurai-Pune (By Train)
After having your breakfast, drive towards Madurai railway station. From there, take your train to Pune. Have a comfortable overnight journey in the train.
Day 18: Pune
As you arrive in Pune in the morning, take a transfer to the hotel. Spend the day at leisure. In the evening, you can out for shopping at the local market. Later, come back to the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 19: Pune-Bhimashankar (By Road-110 Kilometres)-Trimbakeshwar (By Road-231 Kilometres)
This morning, after having an early breakfast, drive to Bhimashankar. On reaching, go for Darshan. Later, drive to Triambakeshwar. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 20: Triyambakeshwar-Nashik (By Road-30 Kilometres)-Shirdi(By Road-89 Kilometres)
Today early morning, proceed for Darshan and Pooja at Triambakeshwarji. After having your breakfast, drive to Shirdi and en-route visit Nasik and enjoy sightseeing. On reaching Shirdi, go for Darshan at Sai Dham. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 21: Shirdi-Aurangabad (By Road-109 Kilometres)-Hydrabad (By Train)
In the morning, attend KankadAarti and after breakfast, drive to Aurangabad via ShaniShingnapurDham. On reaching, visit GhrushneshwarMahadev. Later, board your train to Hyerabad. Have a comfortable overnight train journey.
Day 22: Hyderabad-Srisailam(By Road-215 Kilometres)
Upon arrival at Hyderabad, drive to Srisailam. Rest day is free at leisure. You can go for local sightseeing or attend Pooja and Abhishekam. Later, return to the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 23: Srisailam-Hyderabad(By Road-215 Kilometres)
